All LEAP outlets prioritize sustainable growing practices, small-scale producers, a diversity of products and people, and a sense of community.
See below for the many ways LEAP connects eaters with local food.
LEAP connects customers with local food five days a week:
LEAP's mission is rooted in the farmers, vendors, and customers who sell and shop at our markets. Most products are raised or prepared within 100 miles of our markets. All markets accept and match SNAP, Medicaid, and WIC.
Every week, year round, the LEAP Mobile Market arrives in neighborhoods across the region to feed residents hungry for fresh food. The mobile market's reach is expanding to provide more shoppers regular access to local produce. Click to see the mobile market schedule, learn how to support the mobile market, or see what's needed to invite the mobile market to your event.
In Roanoke’s West End neighborhood, fresh fruits and vegetables are often hard to find. LEAP has created a retail space to make fresh and locally produced food more available to the community. This store opened in June 2024.
