If you have driven by LEAP or joined our West End Farmers Market in the last few months, you know that there’s exciting change afoot in the West End! The West End Farmers Market Pavilion provides a community gathering place and permanent home for our Tuesday farmers market, which has had 4 locations in the West End over the last 16 years, to be enjoyed by the community for years to come. The pavilion is the last infrastructure project made possible thanks in part to support from ARPA funding, awarded in 2021 by Roanoke City and the Star City Strong: Recovery and Resiliency Advisory Panel. 

We’ve been working on this project since 2023 and we are SO EXCITED to have a roof for our year-round rain-or-shine operation, lights for the winter season, and fans for the summer! And a visual daily reminder that everyone deserves to eat fresh food. 

Now, it’s time to CELEBRATE—join us for a Ribbon Cutting and Opening Day Market celebration on Tuesday, April 14th, starting at 2:30pm! We invite you all—neighbors, supporters, community partners, friends, and family—to help us break in the new space, be in community, and enjoy the farmers market. We will share brief remarks at 2:30pm, followed by a special market from 3-6pm with a full roster of market and guest vendors, live music, and face painting—fun for the whole family! (Plus, Double Match Day for customers with SNAP).
