LEAP began as the Grandin Village Farmers Market in 2009. At the heart of its mission from Day 1 has been a deep desire to support local farmers and food producers, connecting them with customers who value their hard work. LEAP market vendors are central to our nonprofit’s work.

How Do I Become a LEAP Market Vendor?

LEAP market vendors are largely selected at the start of the calendar year. An updated vendor handbook is shared, applications are received, contracts are signed, and training is provided. LEAP manages two farmers markets, Grandin Village Farmers Market and West End Farmers Market.

The Grandin Village Farmers Market's Main Season begins the first Saturday of April and continues through mid-November, with weekly Saturday markets. In November and December, it's Holiday Season, with Saturday markets every week except the Saturdays after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. In Winter Season -- January, February, and March -- markets are held on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

West End Farmers Market is held every Tuesday from 3-6 pm, year round, rain or shine.

Potential vendors, please note:

Priority will be given to agricultural food products.
Preference will be given to products made with local ingredients.
Preference will be given to products produced closest to market locations.
Preference will be given to vendors who can commit to being at market every week.

All vendors must comply with all Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Virginia Department of Health regulations regarding selling at farmers markets. Vendors must accept LEAP Market Bucks, $5 tokens, and $1 SNAP/EBT tokens for approved items.
