C&F Farms is a family-owned, regenerative livestock farm based in the Roanoke Valley of Virginia. The farm was originally started by Emory Cox, and today it’s run by his daughter and grandson, Debbie Frye & Jared Frye.
C&F Farms raise high-quality meats and sell directly to families who care about where their food comes from. Everything they do is rooted in transparency, stewardship, and a commitment to doing things the right way—even when it’s not the easy way.
Our farm is located in Roanoke, Virginia, where we’re proud to carry on a third-generation farming tradition. Over the years, our farm has evolved quite a bit—we’ve raised crops, grown produce, and tried a number of different enterprises.
Over time, we made the decision to focus fully on livestock and transition into a direct-to-consumer model. That shift allowed us to build a closer connection with our customers and take more ownership over the quality of the food we produce.
While the operation has changed, the goal hasn’t: leave the land better than we found it.
We raise a variety of pasture-based meats, including:
Our animals are raised without antibiotics or hormones and are rotated regularly on pasture to promote soil health, animal welfare, and better-quality meat.
We believe food should be raised with intention. That means caring for the land, respecting the animals, and being honest with the people we feed.
Industrial agriculture has made food convenient—but often at the cost of quality and transparency. We’ve chosen a different path. By working with nature instead of against it, we’re able to produce better food, improve our soil, and give our customers confidence in what they’re feeding their families.
We value our partnership with LEAP because it connects farms like ours with the local community in a meaningful way. LEAP plays an important role in supporting local agriculture and making it easier for customers to access high-quality, locally raised food.
Being part of that network helps us reach more families who care about sourcing their food responsibly and supporting local farms.
