what is a Farm SHare?

LEAP's Farm Share is a weekly portion of fresh produce raised by farmers in the Roanoke region. It's an investment in health, in the environment, in the local economy. Choosing a farm share is a way to experience eating seasonally.

Spring:  kale, fennel, asparagus, garlic scapes
Summer:  lettuce mix, sweet corn, cucumbers, onions, beans
Fall:  broccoli, beans, sweet potatoes, parsnips

Includes 6-7 vegetables weekly; ideal for 3-4 people. More veggie variety! A typical share might include:
Spring: kale, fennel, asparagus, bok choy, garlic scapes, radishes
Summer:  lettuce mix, sweet corn, cucumbers, onions, potatoes, tomatoes, green beans
Fall: kale, broccoli, beans, sweet potatoes, parsnips, garlic

What makes a leap farm share different?

Choose your PickUp Location

Choose from five pickup locations for Main Season Farm Share (May–October):

Winter Farm Share (November-January) pickup locations are limited to Carilion Riverwalk Garage on Wednesdays and The LEAP Hub on Thursdays.
Sign up by filling out this online form. A confirmation email with payment instructions will be sent once your registration is received.  

If you are an employee at Carilion Clinic, you can have your
farm share deducted from your bi-weekly paycheck.
Simply select "Payroll Deduction" as payment type.

For customers wishing to pay with SNAP-EBT,
register using the online form, selecting incentive type as "EBT."
Your discounted payment will be due weekly at pickup.

Registration deadline for Main Season is April 29, 2024.
Registration deadline for Winter is Oct. 28, 2024.
