Get Involved

want to connect more deeply with LEAP?

LEAP is a 501c3 nonprofit centered in Roanoke, VA, committed to listening and responding to the ever-changing needs, challenges, and opportunities of our food community. We cannot do this work without the help of many. See below for ways to get involved at LEAP.

Volunteer

Volunteering with LEAP is a fun and rewarding way to engage with the community. Volunteers help us strengthen community well-being, support our local economy, have a positive impact on the environment, and help everyone access fresh, nutritious food.

New volunteer opportunities are posted monthly in our community gardens, processing kitchen, farmers markets, food hub, and office. If you're new to volunteering with us, please register first, then explore opportunities and sign up for shifts!

Become an Intern

LEAP has shifted its internship program to be year round and flexible. Depending on the interests of interns and the needs of our nonprofit during any given season, we will craft a schedule that works for all. These are unpaid internships. Interns need to be available for 6-12 hours per week and preferably for at least three months. (Don’t have that much time to commit? Sign up as a volunteer!) Find more information here. To apply, send a cover letter and resume the email address below or drop them off at:
The LEAP Hub, 1027 Patterson Ave. SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
