Spotlight: Kitchen member, ‘ot Chihuahua Salsa

The Kitchen has been open for a few months now, so we’d like to take a minute and introduce you to our fabulous users!

Laura Guajardo is the owner and operator of ‘ot Chihuahua Salsa. Many of you may already recognize her for the delicious and authentic products she sells at the Grandin Village Community Market. Her salsas, which come in many flavors, can’t be beat. She is excited about being in The Kitchen so that she can use a VDACS-certified space to produce and sell her product to local grocery stores. This will allow her to expand her reach, grow her business, and continue making tasty salsas.

Stop by the market, try some salsa, and ask her how her time in The Kitchen has been!

Alex hard at work selling local fruits and vegetables!

We had a great time partnering the Mobile Market with Mental Health America of Roanoke Valley

It’s partnerships like these that help us spread the word and also get more healthy food into the kitchens of local residents who want it. Through our support from theFoundation for Roanoke Valley, we were fortunate to meet Diane Kelly, the director of Mental Health America of Roanoke Valley. We organized two presentations for their clients followed by pop-up Mobile Market stops that were wildly successful and exciting. Watch out for the Mobile Market coming to a location near you!
