LEAP Mobile Market

LEAP Mobile Market & COVID-19

The LEAP Mobile Market is operational! Schedule and operations are subject to some changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please keep reading, or reach out directly, for more information.

The LEAP Mobile Market brings local, healthy, and fresh food to Roanoke neighborhoods without easy access to fresh produce. All stops are open to the public and we accept cash, debit, credit, and EBT. All LEAP Mobile Market stops accept and double SNAP-EBT (food stamps) and we also double purchases made by WIC and Medicaid recipients. If you’d like to see the Mobile Market in your neighborhood or at your event, please contact markets@leapforlocalfood.org.

Customers are asked to maintain a safe physical distance of 6′ from each other and staff while shopping. Staff will wear face coverings, and we thank our customers in advance for likewise wearing face masks while shopping. If you or someone you know need a mask, we currently have a supply on-board the Mobile Market that we’re happy to share (Thanks to Delegate Sam Rasoul for the contribution!). At this time customers aren’t allowed to pick-up and handle foods on the Mobile Market prior to purchase; you can view the produce, point to items you’d like to purchase, and Mobile Market staff will bag it for you. Sanitizer or hand washing station will be available for your use, we will also disinfect and clean any surfaces that are frequently contacted.

We’ll be expanding this weekly schedule soon with the addition of Friday stops; if you’d like to see us in your neighborhood, please reach out!
